MLP win in PN [Uganda]

The Migrants’ Law Project recently successfully argued that the appeal of PN [Uganda] had been unfairly decided under the 2005 Fast Track Appeal Rules which had led to PN being removed to Uganda in December 2013.  The High Court quashed (cancelled) the determination of the First-tier Tribunal and ordered the Home Secretary to return PN to the UK so that her appeal can be fairly decided. The Home Secretary arranged for PN’s return and she arrived in the UK on 30 July 2019.

The MLP, representing Detention Action, successfully challenged the operation of the Detained Fast Track, resulting in its suspension in 2015.

The full judgment in PN’s case can be found here: https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Admin/2019/1616.html
