The MLP Asylum Process Guide App

The MLP has developed an app for advisers, caseworkers and people working with asylum seekers more broadly, but who are not qualified immigration advisers and solicitors. The aim of the app is to enable advisers to understand how best to support their clients and service users throughout the process of claiming asylum, from first arrival to the end of the process.

Working through the app with your client, you will be able to understand the most effective intervention at each stage – from securing legal advice, to ensuring clients are able to access financial support and education. The app starts at the beginning of the process, but is appropriate for use with asylum seekers at all stages of the process, from first arrival to becoming Appeals Rights Exhausted. The app holds resources including links to helpful guides from other organisations, template letters, and lists of legal advisers. As well as supporting clients, the app aims to ensure that advisers and caseworkers are able to build their understanding of the asylum system, and how best to support people through it. You can access the app here.

The app is designed for use on desktop/laptop or tablet, and cannot be accessed via a mobile phone. The app was developed in partnership with Code Your Future, an organisation that supports asylum seekers and refugees to develop coding skills.
